This chandelier is an historic reproduction--perfect for my 80 year old house. The golden glass puts out a mellow amber light--needs full wattage bulbs if you want to try to read the paper. Also the gold light changes some paint and fabric colors. That being said, I love it and plan to buy more in the same family of lighting.

This is hanging at the top of the 2-story stairwell in our Colonial Revival Victorian. I have the matching fixture in the vestibule. It is so beautiful and the glass shades are works of art. I love how I can see it up close when I am upstairs in the walkways around the stairwell. Extremely solid and well-made.
