Comments about Progress Lighting Hide-a-Lite Under Cabinet 10-light Track Kit in Black:
Tiny lights that hide under cabinets. They produce good light for working and also are energy efficient. I bought longer wire and cut it for my own spacing. In some areas I needed to run wire behind cabinets into the next group of wall cabs -- ex. each side of my kitchen sink. This arrangement works well for my layout. I think most kitchens have situations where the packaged wire will need to be replaced and lengthened. That's not a problem. I like these lights
Comments about Progress Lighting Hide-a-Lite Under Cabinet 10-light Track Kit in Black:
I bought this kit for my mother. I know a little about home electrical, and I found it quite easy to modify the kit for a direct wire application, but if you just want to plug them into the wall, it is even easier. My mother's cabinents have a very small overhang behind which I could hide the light. The kits you will find at HD or Lowes are too deep and can be easily seen when installed. These Hide-a-Lites are very low profile and disappear completely when installed. They include the wires needed to hook them up, but they are pre-cut to 18" I needed longer lengths, so I went to Radio Shack and bought a spool of 18ga wire. If you do this, make sure you buy solid core wire and not stranded. If you use solid wire (like the kind included) you can just siomply push the wire into the lights. There is no need to screw or solder anything. The instructions show two light per cabinent, but I have found that one light per 18-24" of cabinent is perfect.
