About Murray Feiss:
Over fifty years ago, Rose Feiss, an immigrant with talent and spirit, began sewing lampshades to occupy her time while her son Murray was serving in the Navy during WWII. What began as an endeavor to pass the time, developed into a cottage industry filling the days of many wives and mothers in The Bronx, NY. After the war, Murray joined his mother’s business and expanded it to include portable lighting. The company moved to larger headquarters, and the business grew. In 2002 the company opened a five and one-half million cubic foot, state of the art distribution center. The company now occupies several square blocks on Rose Feiss Boulevard in The Bronx, renamed by the Mayor of New York in honor of the company’s matriarch.
With pride in the past and commitment to the future, Feiss has expanded its extensive, copyrighted line of products to include grand chandeliers, casual fixtures, vanity bath lights with coordinated bath hardware, outdoor lighting, lamps, torchieres, wall brackets, and decorative accessories. A talented award winning in-house design team of industrial, graphic and interior designers work with engineers and draftsmen, color forecasters, and quality control experts to guarantee that only the finest materials are used and design integrity is maintained.
