About Murray Feiss:
Over fifty years ago, Rose Feiss, an immigrant with talent and spirit, began sewing lampshades to occupy her time while her son Murray was serving in the Navy during WWII. What began as an endeavor to pass the time, developed into a cottage industry filling the days of many wives and mothers in The Bronx, NY. After the war, Murray joined his mother’s business and expanded it to include portable lighting. The company moved to larger headquarters, and the business grew. Three generations have nurtured the company and it now stands as a leader with a reputation for impeccable craftsmanship, innovative design and honest value. In 2002 the company opened a five and one-half million cubic foot, state of the art distribution center. The company now occupies several square blocks on Rose Feiss Boulevard in The Bronx, renamed by the Mayor of New York in honor of the company’s matriarch.
With pride in the past and commitment to the future, Feiss has expanded its extensive, copyrighted line of products to include grand chandeliers, casual fixtures, vanity bath lights with coordinated bath hardware, outdoor lighting, lamps, torchieres, wall brackets, and decorative accessories. A talented award winning in-house design team of industrial, graphic and interior designers work with engineers and draftsmen, color forecasters, and quality control experts to guarantee that only the finest materials are used and design integrity is maintained. These designs are brought to life in factories overseas, where over 3,500 skilled professionals manufacture the exclusive product. Every product is meticulously finished and quality tested, not once but twice by an independent team of engineers.
They are proud to be the exclusive manufacturer of Bob Mackie Home, a name synonymous with glamour and style. Additionally, they are the exclusive lighting and accessory licensee for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s: Williamsburg Pure • Simple • Today: a collaboration that brings the traditional and the transitional heritage that defines Williamsburg’s commitment to authentic American design and quality.

I used this fixture to replace a very ordinary brass fixture. This light has become the focal point of my dining area. It blends well with my Japanese wood block prints and other Asian decor.

I have the chandelier over the dining table in the kitchen. I had dimmer switches installed, and I love having control over the intensity of the light.

Comments about Murray Feiss Boulevard Small Uplight Chandelier in Oil Rubbed Bronze:
We hired an electrician to attach it to our 18' ceiling in the foyer and he had it done in about an hour. We love how simple and yet elegant the design is. The only thing to note is that the glass is bright white when unlit and turns ivory when lit (which I prefer). So during the day is looks more contemporary and at night it looks more warm.

Elegant and a real value, especially compared to locally available products. Fast shipping and excellent on-line follow-through.

Q:
must the globe be removed in order to change a bulb?2 answers
CUSTOMER CARE
A:
You would have access to the bulbs from above the globe, but there really isn't all that much space for your hand. It would be easier to remove the globe and change the bulbs, but you could also change them without removing the globe.VERIFIED BUYER
A:
No, it is not necessary to remove the globe to change a bulb.
