I purchased the WK100 under the impression that it was a switch that received remote commands, not just a remote. I went ahead and pulled the switch from my old fan and put this one in its place, and wired the fan directly to the circuit. It's nice that it comes with both a white faceplate, wallplate, and screws, as well as light-tan. If more colors were available, I'd REALLY love it. My room is not large nor does it have a tall ceiling. If I could do it over again, I'd have just bought the simple fan switch for the 212mm motors (I have the Grand Prix fan, which is amazing by the way). I would gladly recommend this to a customer who is planning a setup in a large room with multiple control locations/fans, but it really isn't worth the cost if installing in a small room. If you're really that lazy (like me) go ahead and just buy the hand-held remote.
Service and delivery comments:
The delivery of this was bundled with a flush mount kit, and took 3 days longer than the ceiling fan itself to arrive at my house. I don't understand what caused this to take so much longer. According to my UPS tracking, it sat @ its second location for three days straight, despite shipping @ the same time as my fan. Finally it arrived and I could install my fan. It arrived in good condition, however I'm rather peeved at the delay in shipping time
