Thanks to the second small lamp attached to the main one it is easy to read clearly in the living room while the rest of the room has a dimmer light.

The directions were extremely vague. Once the lamp was put together, it leans. So, I just saved the styrofoam and propped it up on one side so that it doesn't list. Would return it, but it took too long to assemble.

Very stylish modern design, a touch of simple elegance. I bought this torchiere in addition to a wall lamp of the same design, and I am very pleased with both. I wish I could buy one without the reading lamp, but I am happy with the purchase anyway.

Excellent as a reading lamp, but I never use the top lamp b/c it is a dimmer which means I can't use energy efficient Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs. I tried, but they flicker & hum too badly. I refuse to waste energy by putting old fashioned incandescent bulbs in there. I wish I had known you can't use CFL's in it before I bought it.
