The first bulb burned out pretty fast. Suspect that it is the heat that halogen bulbs give off that is the culprit. Stock up with replacement bulbs. Performs as advertised.

This product was purchased to put by my husband's chair where he reads. The light from the lamp on the table was not adequate. We liked it so much we bought a second one for another room!! This lamp (with the haologen lightbulb that comes with it) shines the bright light directly where you need it and actually keeps the rest of the room dark...nice on early mornings when I don't want to see a bright light in the living room!!

As always the modern styling of the [...] is very impressive. The brushed nickel finish is very nice. The light provided from this lamp is excellent for reading (on the high setting) and accent lighting (on the low setting). I do miss having a dimmer switch but I feel I got excellent value for my dollar on this product.
