Installed this in a bedroom with 8 foot ceilings. Looks nice. You will need two people to install it. And, you will need to ensure your ceiling outlet can take the weight. There was a giant, heavy ceiling fan there before I installed the light. So, I knew already that the outlet was going to be strong enough. It's the impressively thick glass diffuser that's the heavy part. Anyhow, it gives off a nice, diffuse light. I put 13W CF's in there. Nice and bright. I put in super white ones but CF's tinted more like incandescents would better match the lamp. Depends on your taste. The light's installed in the center of the room and doesn't light up the room's corners very well. A smaller room probably wouldn't have that problem. Overall, a very nice lamp. Build quality is excellent and it was packaged very well, too. It cost a little more than I wanted to spend; but I think it's going to last for a long long time.

This light sat in a box for months while my remodel was underway, and when it came time to install it, not one, but two electricians thought the light was defective. They could not figure out how to get the glass plate in and assumed the screw was too small. My best friend showed everyone up--the only problem was the glass plate goes in opposite to what you would intuit. I highly recommend the light. It let's off a bright, but diffuse light and looks tailored.

Lighting is bright, using a dimmer switch controls amount of light needed. Easy installation. Be prepared, as the white glass is very heavy on this light. It seem to blend right into the ceiling, very non-distracting.
