This is a convenient product that allows the user to control a ceiling fan from both a hand held remote as well as a wall-mounted control. Wiring from the fan to a wall switch is required. The hand held remote differs significantly from the photo shown. Also, the package includes one battery, but two are required (one for wall switch, one for remote). Battery is an somewhat unusual 23AE 12-volt type, but they are relatively inexpensive.

I sought out this brand of remote as I had already purchased a Craftmade hugger fan and needed something I knew would fit.
Overall I'm happy with the switch and the remote is okay. The standand alone remote is bulky and come with a giant mounting plate; this would have been better slimmed down. Also the use of a hard to find, non-standard 12v battery about the size of a AAA was annoying.

I do enjoy the ability to use both the wall switch and the handheld remote. Overall I would probably but this again.

This is a well-made product that performs the intended function well. However, you should know that the portable remote does not resemble the photo above at all. Instead, it is a large, clunky brick with an oversize control button on it. It may be just the thing for someone that has poor eyesight or otherwise finds operating remotes with small buttons to be difficult. But the design itself is very inelegant and not at all aesthetically pleasing.
